I finally got around to framing my copy of the 56 Geeks Poster! It looks awesome. Pics below. Click the small to make big.

Well, it’s been a while, but I’m getting back into the swing of it. Did some updates to the site layout. I’ve started updating my Twitter more often. Cleaned up my Facebook page a bit.
Anyway, planning a few more updates to the site. Stay tuned.
Got my first follower today on Twitter. Such a weird feeling, because I don’t know the person. I must be interesting enough to listen to!
I’ll be writing up some more site updates soon. I promise!
I’m happy. I was right about my previous power supply being busted. I purchased an ABS Tagan ITZ 700W Power Supply from newegg, installed it, and both of the motherboards that I thought weren’t working are purring beautifully. Plus this power supply is really nice… It’s got a super shiny blue finish that goes well with the blue lights in my case. Comes with a rubber grommet to go between the supply and the case to keep vibration noise to a minimum. There’s tons of power connections… 2 PCI-E, 6 Molex, 2 Floppy, and 8 SATA. I’m using about a third of those connections with my current setup. Likely more than I’ll ever need, though the motherboard I’m using has 8 SATA connections as well, so if I ever get enough SATA drives to take advantage of that, I’ll be able to support the power requirements. In any case, my desktop PC looks sexier than before, and is a little bit quieter as well.
I’m never buying a BFG product again. I don’t like it when a power supply fails only a year after I purchase it. I’m gonna call their tech support and see if their lifetime warranty on power supplies holds up.

My TV is working. I called Olevia tech support, and he had me unplug the TV, wait a couple minutes, and plug it back in. I swear I had done that a few times before when it first stopped working, but this time it turned on! So now I’m getting back to watching season one of Heroes all the way through.

The trailer for the Iron Man movie is out! Check it out here. Comes out May 2, 2008, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark. I think he’s perfect for the role.
On a side note - anyone else think Robert Downey Jr. would have done great as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates movies?
This movie rocks! Non-stop action and comedy. In this movie I saw Clive Owen do things with a carrot i never thought I’d see anyone do. I’d speak of the plot, but I’m afraid that would ruin it for you. Just know you get to see Clive Owen be cool and British, Monica Bellucci be sexy, and Paul Giamatti be creepy and evil. The stunt crew is absolutely huge! Go see this movie - you will not be disappointed.

This has not been a very good week for me. First, my desktop PC stopped working. Won’t turn on. Seems like a burnt out motherboard, but this would be the second time in a month that I’d have to replace that. I think there’s something wrong with the power supply, and it busted both motherboards for me. I think I may be adding BFG to the list of manufacturers whose products I won’t be purchasing again.
This morning, I went to turn on my TV, and it just turned itself off after a couple seconds. It’s an Olevia 337H 37″ LCD. TV won’t turn on at all now. From what I read on various forums and such online, it probably needs it’s mainboard replaced. I can’t talk to Olevia’s tech support to try and get it fixed until business hours on Monday. So, I won’t be watching any TV this weekend. Not that there’s anything on, mind you, but I just got Heroes season 1 on DVD and I’ve been itching to watch it. I’ve got a tiny 14″ TV in storage, but it just wouldn’t do the show justice. Gotta watch it on a nice widescreen TV in high def.
Late last year and early this year, when Olevia’s TVs first started selling like crazy ’cause of their low prices, their customer support and tech support got flooded with requests, and apparently was really slow at fulfilling them. I really hope that’s improved by now. I don’t want to have to wait more than a week or two to start watching a decent TV again. I really hope I have it working by the time Heroes season 2 starts up.

It’s a lazy day, and I had nothing to do, so I went to go see the movie “Balls of Fury”. It wasn’t as good as the previews. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent movie, and has plenty of funny moments. There just seems to be a lot of down time between the humor. It’s a funny story, with some cheesy one-liners, and Christopher Walken. Overall, I think I’d give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.

And this is why:
Facebook is a social network tool. It is designed to make it easier to keep in touch with your friends. Once you sign up, you set up a profile for yourself, and then you can start finding your friends. You can search for people by name, school (high school and college), and workplace.
Once you have friends set up, the interaction starts! Updates to your friends profiles will automatically show up on your Facebook home page. When you first get your account, your profile will show any contact info you enter, interests, favorite music, TV, movies, books, and quotes, as well as your education and work history. Any photos you upload and any Facebook user groups you join will show up on your profile as well. There’s also a message board on your profile called “The Wall”. Anyone can write a message on your wall for everyone (or just your friends, depending on your privacy options) to see.
Facebook also has many “applications” available to install into your profile. Most of the ones I’ve seen are for entertainment. Lots of mini social games and such. Of course there’s also useful additions like weather and various political awareness apps.
It’s completely free, and there’s nothing to install on your computer. Everything is done through the Facebook website. If you use Firefox, there is an extension to provide better integration with Facebook. Try out Facebook, and find out what you’ve been missing! Once you’re on, go ahead and check out my profile. Feel free to add me as a friend.
